			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hey guys. Well, I can hardly believe it has been so long since I last posted, but April 7 is literally the last time I worked out. I ran a few times, but have not done P90X.  I was SO damn close to finishing that I&#8217;m despondent.  There&#8217;s no way I can reasonably pick it back up and hope to have  a good result for Round 1.</p>
<p>I was kicking ass for the first 60 days, then the following happened.  My mother in law pass away after losing her battle with brain cancer, business started to pick up and is taxing my ability to find free time and still be a dad and husband, and the last straw, my dear friend and close business associate of 15 years was recently diagnosed with Stage IV esophageal cancer.  I have been trying to pick up his work too as he lack the energy to work as much as he used to.  And, I can&#8217;t afford to let our clients down.  This past week alone, I worked from 6-7am until 11pm every day!  Good for business, bad for my physique.</p>
<p>While, I&#8217;m not really taking these things well, I&#8217;m doing my best to manage through.  I don&#8217;t want this post to be a pity party and plan on doing a Round Two sometime over the next few weeks. I will finish up the Round One workouts to get myself back to some semblance of base fitness to really &#8220;kill it&#8221; in Round Two.</p>
<p>I can do it.  Round One was not a total loss.  I managed to drop 10 pounds and get into really good shape.  While my pictures aren&#8217;t exactly stellar, I can definitely notice my clothes fitting differently and my friends tell me I look &#8220;lean.&#8221;  All good things.</p>
<p>I just need to get back and focus.  Once I&#8217;m on the bandwagon it will be easier to follow. I just need to START bringing it again.</p>

<p>So, bear with me as I try to get the motor humming again tomorrow morning.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Well kids.  Mentally, I need to get through these last few weeks and be done with Round One so I can move on.  I feel so fortunate to have maintained an analytical perspective in keeping the blog and spreadsheets on my progress.  And, while I don&#8217;t look anything close to the changes people in the TV commercials have, I definitely am in a much better place than December 31.</p>
<p>Lots to report in the finale video wrap up on lessons learned and the way forward.</p>
<p>In the meantime, Week 11 started this morning with Chest &amp; Back.  I worked so hard that I bonked with three exercises to go.  It was a close call, because I was about to puke, but a little cold water on the wrists quickly calmed my system.</p>
<p>I walked upstairs and my wife said, &#8220;Why are you so pale? WOW, you are REALLy pale.&#8221; LOL</p>

		<title>Week 10 Done. Two Weeks To Go.</title>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It took a couple of days, but I finally finished Week 10 with Kenpo X.  Yesterday, I decided to go for a 3.25 mile run instead of doing Kenpo.  It&#8217;s not the brightest idea, but when I wake up in the morning I always have a mind to do both, but then the day seems to get away.  At least I did something.  But, today I brought it really well, sweat like a mule and burned 450 calories.</p>
<p>One thing I&#8221;m curious about.  On the third recovery break in Kenpo right after the fighting stance blocks, Tony asks about heart rate. Mine is always down to about the upper 120s/low 130s by that time, but he says his is 164.  That makes no sense to me, because the sequence right before that isn&#8217;t fatiguing.  Oh well. Anyone else notice this?</p>
<p>I have two weeks left until the final transition week and then it&#8217;s Graduation City!  I have learned a huge amount about my body, mindset and what it will take to be successful in P90X. I hope to apply all of this for Round Two, which I will begin the first week in May.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Yesterday, I decided to rest, because my knees were really hurting.  The running is taking it&#8217;s toll on  my knees&#8211;as it always does when I first start to pound pavement in the early days of spring.  Man, this morning I had to wake up extra early to work out and I never really woke up despite drinking my SPARK and Arginine extreme and munching on a serving of a home-made power brownie (e.g., protein powder, honey, natural PB, and rolled oats).  I ended up doing 3 more total pullups (55) than my max throughout the workout, but I also took way more breaks in between the exercises, because my body and mind were not into the groove.</p>
<p>I ended up persevering, which is an accomplishment in and of itself, but somehow I feel like I dawged it.  I&#8217;m not real happy with that feeling considering where I am in the program, but it is what it is.  Some days, you&#8217;re a stud and some days you&#8217;re a dud. I&#8217;m here to keep it real! <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>If I am feeling ambitious later today, I may end up trying to stay on track with the conclusion of Week 10 by completing Kenpo X, but we&#8217;ll see.</p>

		<description><![CDATA[Well, today is a good day.  I went to bed early and decided to get up at 5:45 to do Yoga.  Had a light breakfast, read some news headlines, posted on Facebook, and went down into the basement once the spaceheater had it nice and toasty.  It&#8217;s been almost 2 weeks since the last time [...]<img alt="" border="0" src="http://stats.wordpress.com/b.gif?host=iloveitbutihateit.wordpress.com&amp;blog=10749209&amp;post=272&amp;subd=iloveitbutihateit&amp;ref=&amp;feed=1" width="1" height="1" />]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Well, today is a good day.  I went to bed early and decided to get up at 5:45 to do Yoga.  Had a light breakfast, read some news headlines, posted on Facebook, and went down into the basement once the spaceheater had it nice and toasty.  It&#8217;s been almost 2 weeks since the last time I completed Yoga X and I was definitely not as flexible as I&#8217;ve been at the start.  However, I kept with it and once my body heated up it was all good and the sweat was pouring off.  It&#8217;s nice to have your workout out of the way early but it&#8217;s now 1pm and I feel like a nap! <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>Woke up, ate a tasty orange and coffee.  Finished the workout and had my trusty egg sammich with turkey sausage, veggies, and skim mozzy and more coffee.  Then, about 3 hours later I had 2 packets of plain oatmeal with a tablespoon of honey.  Then, about an hour after that I had my vegan chocolate protein shake with about two cups of skim milk.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today was another nice day and I decided to do an extended run instead of head down the basement for some Yoga X.  I went about 4.2 miles and it felt good to clear my mind.  As long as I do &#8220;something&#8221; active I don&#8217;t mind switching up a non-P90X workout into the mix; I especially like running this time of year, because it tends to get me the leanest results, which I could use about now before my graduate pics in a few weeks. <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Well, I always have knee pain every time the outside running season starts and this year is no different. But, combining it with Plyo is making it worse.  So, it&#8217;s good that I had Back and Biceps today, which I was going to combine with a run this afternoon, but changed that the second I got out of bed.</p>
<p>I had a good workout.  My forearms were so pumped that I couldn&#8217;t really do pullups properly so my numbers suffered a bit.  But, I keep pushing and I&#8217;m 2.5 weeks away from being a P90X grad.  I&#8217;m getting excited!  Next round I&#8217;m really going to focus on size, which means higher weight and maintaining 8 rep maxes.</p>

If you do not own a heart-rate monitor you are missing out on important data bigtime.  Knowing what zone your beats are in is so critical to getting the most out of Plyo.  Just because you&#8217;re sweating doesn&#8217;t mean you&#8217;re maximizing effort.  I love using my Polar HRM.  Felt really good tonight.  Glad I brought it.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today was a beautiful day and I got the urge to head outdoors for a run with the intention of doing Plyo after.  Well, I felt really good and was loving the weather so I ended up extending my run to about 4.25 miles. By the time I got back, my knees were in no condition to start pounding on the cement floor in the basement.  So, I took my 450 calories burned and feel ok about it.  I&#8217;ll make it up tomorrow.  Running is also an important part of my spring/summer/fall exercise so it&#8217;s critical I build that in.  The benefit is that it just might help burn a bit of the gut.</p>
